We are meeting to discuss how to use our collective power to get the contracts we deserve. This year the City of Amesbury saved a lot of money on Health Insurance premiums (estimated @ $1.2 Million). That savings did not just appear out of thin air - it's a result of hard work that we - the Amesbury Public Employees did. Unfortunately, the City of Amesbury doesn't think they need to share these savings with us!
WE NEED TO DEMAND that the City of Amesbury give us FAIR CONTRACTS!
So far the City of Amesbury has been dismissive and at times disrespectful of our negotiations teams and our proposals. Amesbury Teachers are headed to mediation, and the City has refused to meet with other units to bargain in good faith.
Amesbury Public Employees work hard to ensure the well-being of the residents of Amesbury. The services we provide impact the lives of Amesbury residents each and every day. This is about RESPECT!
