AFT Amesbury is thrilled to share that President Yetman once again has been awarded the $10,000 MIIA Great Place to Work Grant! Over the years, Yetman has worked hard to secure nearly $60,000+ in MIIA Workplace Wellness funding, all dedicated to making our schools better for both staff and students.
These grants have a direct impact on our workplace environment by promoting wellness, fostering collaboration, and building a community where everyone can thrive.
In the past, we’ve funded amazing resources like ergonomically correct standing desks, under-desk cyclers, and healthy vending machines. This year, we’re excited to roll out new purchases based on employee survey data, including:
- Free healthy snacks delivered periodically to all schools.
- Under-desk treadmills for 20 lucky winners via blind lottery.
- Massage chairs with calming waterfall displays placed in designated rejuvenation spaces at each school.
- Continued access to filtered, on-demand hot and cold water systems, thanks to our partnership with Kenoza Vending.
We’re also expanding partnerships with small local fitness centers to offer free courses for employees. Current partnerships include Motivate Barre, Inner Cycle, and, most recently, Amesbury CrossFit—stay tuned for class details soon!
Here’s to more opportunities to grow, support one another, and make our schools truly great places to work and learn!
With the changes in health care benefits being unknown in the future with the new national administration Yetman promises to do all she can to maintain the incredibly low premium rate increases for AFT Amesbury members enjoyed for the past 13 year since she volunteered to start the work in the health and wellness program area for all City of Amesbury employees which includes her beloved members.
